Marjanka is goed opgeleid en is niet vies van waarom. Dat mag ik graag in de paardenwereld; een open vizier. Ze bekapt bij mij 3 paarden waarvan 1 welshpony van 23 die hier kwam met goed achterstallig onderhoud en een Spanjaard met een peesprobleem. Beide ingewikkelde materie voor een hoefsmid en beide knappen zienderogen op.

Als je hetzelfde recept blijft gebruiken, maar andere resultaten verwacht. Mijn paard (KWPN) heeft slechte voorvoeten, en mede door het ijzer en andere invloeden vlogen deze om de oren, in de wei of paddock, waarvan de laatste ijzers een deel van de binnenwand rechtsvoor meenam, want van dezelfde voet was links ook al gehavend. Mijn paard kon voorlopig wel even zo staan, en dan zou er wel weer een ijzer onder kunnen, volgens de smid. Alles in mij riep: nee! Dat gaan we niet meer doen. Via Marjanka raakte ik bekend met natuurlijk bekappen en heb ik een werkdag mee mogen lopen. Een soort snuffelstage. Verschillende paarden gezien, en indrukwekkend hoe de hoeven er zo gezond uitzagen. Dat in de pocket ging ik weer vanuit het mooie Groningen terug naar onder de rook van Rotterdam. Het was ook weer tijd voor een nieuwe afspraak met mijn hoefsmid, en ik heb mijn bevindingen aangegeven over de voorvoeten van Joann. Ik kreeg weer als oplossing ijzers. Op de dag van de afspraak bij aankomst heb ik de punten besproken en heeft mijn hoefsmid de voorvoeten aanschouwd, en hij legde nu uit wat hij zag en hij gaf aan dat als ze geen gevoelige voeten heeft met lopen, een ijzer niet nodig is en ze zo op de ‘blote’ voeten laten en het bijhouden met bekappen… Marjanka als ik jou visie al ver vóór de snuffelstage en tijdens de stage niet had gezien en van gehoord, waren we niet op dit punt gekomen. Bedankt dat je je kennis met mij hebt willen delen. Op naar gezonde voeten, ik ben zo blij!
